2025: A Year of High Performance
At ThinKom, innovation is not a moment; it’s a mindset.
For more than two decades, we have stood at the forefront of the satellite communications market, and it is a true privilege to lead such a trusted and dynamic enterprise. As we turn the page from 2025 to 2026, I wanted to pause and reflect on some of our recent achievements that make me proud, both to celebrate the extraordinary work of our team and partners, and as a reminder of the commitment we bring to our customers’ success.
As airlines expand their connectivity needs, ThinKom is there. Our VICTS-based ThinAir® terminals took their first commercial flight over 10 years ago and continue to serve airlines and passengers around the globe. More than 1,800 aircraft fly today with a ThinAir terminal on board, delivering streaming-quality connectivity service to millions of passengers annually. Another 1,150+ planes are committed for ThinAir installs, covering a range of terminal sizes and configurations.
Delta Air Lines, for example, began upgrades of its regional jet fleet in 2025, swapping out legacy air-to-ground hardware for ThinKom’s Ka1717 terminal, managed by Hughes Networks. Capable of multi-orbit, multi-constellation service, the Ka1717 delivers a step-change in connectivity performance for Delta and its passengers, while upholding ThinKom’s proven legacy of low drag, low power consumption, and exceptional service reliability.
We delivered hundreds of Ka1717 terminals to Hughes for Delta Air Lines’ regional program, supporting an aggressive production ramp up and demonstrating our ability to match production to customer demand. This ensures the installations can run full speed while limiting time for aircraft out of service as they convert to the upgraded platform.
With the Ka1717 installs underway and the performance validated, Delta and Hughes have extended their partnership, once again leaning on ThinKom’s terminal expertise. We are excited to support these partners as they install the ThinAir Ka2517Plus on future A321neo and A350 deliveries, providing simultaneous operation of multi-link, multi-band services to their aircraft.
Our success with the Ka2517 extended around the globe in 2025, delivering high-speed connectivity from every orbit to every seat. Neo Space Group (NSG) announced its contract with Thai Airways, including delivery of the first A321neo fitted with the Ka2517 just before the end of 2025 and Thai’s commitment for the upcoming 787 fleet. Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, and others are also expected to start flying the Ka2517 in the year ahead, based on agreements secured by NSG in 2025.
Similarly, substantial research and development efforts focused on our ThinAir Plus program helped expand its reach beyond the initial commitment from Hughes and Delta. We also launched the GT Plus line for government and special mission customers, with the ThinAir GT2517 terminal noted as the first airborne antenna terminal to receive Government Technology Certification to operate on SES’ O3b mPOWER MEO constellation. GT Plus delivers simultaneous operation of multi-beam, multi-band, and multi-orbit connectivity in a footprint optimized for size, power consumption, and spectral efficiency, with increased options to support additional frequencies and waveforms used in these markets.
Our defense unit also celebrated new contract wins and continued strategic investments in the High-Power Microwave Directed Energy Weapons (HPM DEW) market. We have continued to make excellent progress developing our VICTS-based systems for C-UAS, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), and other counter-electronic missions, featuring the low profile and deployment flexibility that have distinguished ThinKom technology since our inception. The differentiators of ThinKom’s solution are creating a lot of excitement for these systems.
ThinKom received a Direct-to-Phase II (D2P2) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from SpaceWERX to provide a containerized, transportable phased array ground entry point (GEP) to address pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF). We are excited about several other related contracts in the works.
ThinKom is developing innovative and commercially viable new Earth Observation Digital Array Ground Station Solution and working with KSAT to validate its operation. The system improves both overall network capacity and operational efficiency. The agreement combines ThinKom’s expertise in active phased array antenna technology with KSAT’s experience operating the largest and most extensive ground station network globally.
We have much to celebrate as we reflect on 2025. At the same time, we know that execution will define the future, along with continued advancement of our product lines. We are committed to delivering on both—again and again. Stay tuned for much more in 2026 and beyond.
