Senior Creo CAD Designer

Job Summary:

This position is focused on the mechanical design, development, and manufacturing of stationary and mobile antenna systems and related equipment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create 3D CAD Creo models and drawings as part of an integrated product team under the direction of a lead Mechanical Engineer and Program Manager
• Provide effective design support during the conceptual and detailed design phases of a product development program
• Serve as a mentor to the mechanical engineering team in the areas of top-down assembly design, part modeling, manufacturing drawings, GD&T and design for manufacturability
• Prepare and present design material during internal and customer design reviews
• Prepare detailed product manufacturing documentation such as assembly instructions
• Interface with ThinKom production personnel and outside suppliers during the manufacturing phase of programs
• Support business development activities by providing inputfor proposals‍

 Skills and/or Experience Needed:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field desired, but not required
• 7+ years of experience in product design and development
• Extensive Creo experience in top-down assembly design, part modeling, assembly management, and manufacturing drawings; experience with Creo Cabling is preferred
• Advanced capability in designing for producibility,reliability, and ease of assembly and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of fasteners, adhesives, coatings, and related industry specifications desired
• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques such as machining, forming, casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing
• Experience in the design of positioner drive systems and the design or selection of bearings is preferred
• Well versed in configuration management
• Proficient in MS Office products

• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form
• Interpersonal skills to effectively work with ThinKompersonnel as well as suppliers
• Ability to effectively present information in team meetingsand design reviews

•  Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD SecurityClearance

• May occasionally be required to lift, push, or pull maximum of 50 lbs.
• May be subjected to occasional irregular or extended workhours
• May be required to sit for extended lengths of time
• Must be able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials, chemicals and, electromagnetic energy
